i need to know how this effects today cause im writing a paper on it

My guess on what this question is referring to is that the Solar System has possibly much more stability than other stellar systems, which may account for the fact that life on Earth has been able to evolve for billions of years without too much interruption.

If the Solar System had more cometary, asteroidal debris, life could have been wiped out by some huge impact, instead of lesse impacts that have occasional caused extinctions but not total extinctions.

If the Solar System had been in closer vicinity of supernova , we may not be here.

If the sun was in a more populated part of the Milky Way, other stars would have gravitationally upset the order of the planets.

If the sun was not such a stable star, we may not have evolved.

Clube and Napier talk about Molecular clouds. If the Solar System was in a part of the galaxy that had more or larger of these, there would have been far less stability.

Perhaps you should pursue each of these ideas for your paper.

Good luck.

Hi. There are two opposing states, stability and chaos. Stability is a short term condition for the most part. Chaos seems to be a long term condition. If we had three or more stars in our system this would be a concern with the risk of one being ejected being quite high. Same with the planets. Their orbits all effect each other and stability CAN get disrupted.

From time to time energies build up in various forms when a reaction specially revolving happens. Call it the burp, now since the solar system is now grown up and almost quite old, it is about to take a hic up, where all the balances in which an effective and proper revolution takes place would be lost to time. Please wait......... till then, anjum. :)
