sounds like a fungus infection, there are commercial treatments available at your local fish shop.

This is most likely parasites and there is no treatment for the fish. Enjoy the golden fishy whil you can. The parasite will grow and develop, eventually killing the fish. The process can take anywhere between a week and 3 months depending on situations.

1) It's not unusual for goldfish to change color:http://www.goldfishinfo.com/variet.htm

2) What type of goldfish do you have? There is a "blue" coloration (actually more of a silvery-gray IMO), but this is most often seen in orandas. See photo of a solid "blue" and read the thread - these fish aren't dyed -it"s the natural color: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3F_adv_prop%3Dimages%26imgsz%3Dall%26imgc%3D%26vf%3Dphoto%26va%3Dblue%2Bgoldfish%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26ei%3DUTF-8&w=220&h=220&imgurl=quintocuerpo.eluniversal.com%2F2004%2F05%2F01%2FBlue3.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D27552&size=45.1kB&name=Blue3.jpg&p=blue+goldfish&type=jpeg&no=4&tt=297&oid=e881c0f045c7f154&ei=UTF-8

Your fish may have this as a natural part of his/her coloration. So you can't treat this!

If you feel that this is something other than a color change, see these websites for descriptions of common problems/diseases & treatments:

Its only a goldfish there's no need fer the vet. Go grab it some medication from the pet store or even Walmart. If it dies get over it and get yourself another one but then take care of it better.

This sounds like a fungal infection. Call up or go to your local pet shop and explain your situation to them. They can tell you your best options and what medicated treatment to treat your water with.
