You could always get an alloy one made up, no modern cars are made with tanks in the boot due to safety regs.

A mini or a Mk 1 Capri could be donors. Series Land Rover? (Big & square, 10 gallons but relatively cheap to buy new). Or get one fabricated in stainless steel. Possibly the easiest option would be to look at some of the kit cars out there - the Lotus 7 wannabes especially - as these will be available 'off the shelf' in many cases

There used to be a specialist company in Brighton which repaired petrol tanks and re tinned the insides to prevent corrosion,i don't know if they are still in business or not, many classic cars have their own owners clubs and a relevant magazine would give you this information, for example the Triumph owners club magazine is called the Courier and the main suppliers of spares are a company called SOC i believe who are based at Headcorn in Kent, they could also be fairly informative as to where you could start your search for a petrol tank for your Minx.

Depend on how bad the original tank is. Sometimes they can be save by relining with a special material. check around you local garages for comments/estimates. Also may be able to get a new one or a good used on from a local auto wrecker. Do not place one in the boot, as it is illegal for safety reasons. Like fumes getting into the passenger area and possibly igniting. Would be the last light you would see.

Most modern cars have plastic fuel tanks, if your really lucky you may find one that could be adapted to fit your car and you would never need to worry about your fuel tank rusting again as it would probably out live the car. Shouty dad.
