I was trying to trade Daniel Briere & Jason Arnott for Sidney Crosby & Pavel Datsyuk but trade was vetoed. I think this was a fair trade since other guy gave up on season. Was i right?

I tried Briere for Crosby even up but that was vetoed as well. I feel temas ahead of me can't stand the thought of me passing them.

I definitely think that you made out big time in the trade. In our fantasy leagues, all trades are "fair" unless two owners are clearly conspiring with each other.

Whether the trade is lopsided is immaterial. Just because other owners are didn't have the common sense to take advantage of the weakest link before you did is their problem and not yours. If someone is going to let you take advantage of them in fantasy sports, you do it, and you don't feel bad about it.

To summarize: A good trade is where both owners benefit. A GREAT trade is where you screw the other owner over.

I would have voted against the trade also. I understand that the guy gave up but the others at or near the top havent so why would they accept a deal where you become even better through a questionable trade. Giving up Briere was reasonable (Arnott is basically a fantasy scrub) but what amounts to Briere for Crosby and Datsyuk isnt reasonable under any circumstances. Winning a fantasy league means nothing if it isnt done by good drafting, good free agent pickups and fair trades and nobody would respect your victory. It sounds as if you may be in a position to do well so instead of making one sided deals just keep working hard and adjusting your roster to get the most out of it...if you win it will feel better and you will earn the respect of the others in your league instead of having them mock you for cheating your way to the top.

Well obviously its not a fair trade. You are asking for The best player currently in teh NHL in Crosby and a top 20 forward in Datsyuk for Briere who is definitely a superstar but JAson Arnott who isn't quite up to Datsyuks level.

i do think u where right but i'm not sure why everyone in ur league vetoed that trade it could have been by that person even though they gave up on the season.

which ever the reason i think u should try it again and see what happens and ask everyone in ur league why they vetoed that trade even though the other person hasn't been in the league since the beignning of the season.

it wasnt a fair trade, but maybe not so far off to get vetoed, but maybe they thought the guy was just trying to help you out since he quit

It wasn't a fair trade. Usually when someone quits they should be forced to (or commish can) drop all of their players and let the waivers handle the pick ups.
