My brother, his girlfriend, my hubby and I recently had dinner with my parents. During dinner, my Dad launched into a whole conversation about how my mom smelled different during pregnancy (like her body gave off a different odour that he could smell if he stood next to her). Have any of you heard of this before? Do you think he smelled that same odour on either my brother's girlfriend or I? Or do you think he is just a silly old man?

I do not believe that your father is being a silly old man. I know that I smelled different. It's a smell that is had to explain, but it doesn't smell bad.

Your hormones change, and so does your body chemistry during pregnancy. It is completely possible and plausible for your "scent" to change. It would take someone with a good sense of smell to detect it, but it isn't immpossible.

he could be a silly old man with a good nose i wouldn't know cause women change so much during pregnancy i wouldn't doubt that we even smell different during this time.

Yes, he is just a silly man :-))).
Most of the pregnant women sweat a lot, or at least more than before getting pregnant. Probably that's what he meant.

Mom probably wasn't taking a prenatal mineral and vitamin supplement.
