Good old "spray and wash".

Here's what I do when I get a grease stain. Doesn't always work but most times it does: dampen area with water, rub a stain stick on stain, then squirt some Dawn Dishwashing liquid on grease stain. Dawn is suppose to break up grease so why not on clothes too? Allow it to soak in a few minutes then toss in with your regular wash. I usually don't put the clothes in the dryer just in case.

I've had good success with Shout Spray Gel. Spray it right onto the stain and then put in the wash. If you'd like, you can let it sit for a while and soak in. It also helps to spray the other side of the clothing where the stain is, so you get both sides.

Sorry I don't have a tip for getting grease stains out but just HAD to write a reply here as I'm from the UK and to us "pants" are boys knickers (English term for American 'pants' is trousers)

So when I saw your initial title "STAIN IN PANTS" I immediately thought you'd pooped your undercrackers!! simply HAD to look at the question!! LOL

Lestoil is fabulous at getting out grease stains. My husband leaves chapstick in his pants pockets all the time. While they are in the wash/dryer teh chaptick melts all over the clothes. The only thing that has ever gotten out the stains is lestoil. You can buy it at the grocery store.

I make a paste of Dawn and baking soda. Then apply it to the stain and let it sit overnight. Then I wash them as usual. It works every time, even if the article of clothing had already been dried in the dryer.

Someone asked a similiar question and the thing that worked for her was to add a can of coke to the wash. Maybe you can soak that spot with coke and see if it works.
Good luck
