I have parrot cichlid couple that laid eggs and i thought I would have to take them out of that tank and into another when they hatch, but I have read online that they will take care of them and I don't know how true that is. If I do have to take them out then how can I catch them? They live in a 70 gallon tank with 2 cleaner fish.

They take care of them - so let them be.
You may see them putting them in their mouths - don't panic. They are not eating them. This is usually how the transfer them.

If you have other types of fish tho - they could possibly eat them - or at least try.

yeah I am with PT, if we are talking about the same fish they are not supposed to be able to breed from what i understood. Hmm I just searched it, check out this link it is about breeding Parrot cichlids. Cool stuff, good luck with it. If the cleaner fish are plecos they will eat the eggs if they get a chance. Central American cichlids usually make good parents and it is a blast to watch. Thanks for the education/info!

Yes, they (the cleaner fish) will suck, clean them up. You can just catch the other fish and put them in a seperate tank until the fry get big enough to defend themselves.

I'd really like to know if the eggs hatch,Parrot Cichlids are supposed to be sterile hybrids.
