I just finished the BEST book, "The Darling" by Russell Banks. It's about an older woman who reminisces about her turbulent life in Liberia, an American married to a government official during the civil war there in the 80s-90s. If you want a good, compelling read, this is it!

Since my experience lies with science fiction novels, I'm going to suggest two series; the first is the Planet Pirates saga by Anne McCaffrey, in which the protagonists are both female, and their ages grow exponentially as the stories continue. Another is the Mars series by Kim Stanley Robinson; while the cast is both male and female, there are 3 women that I know of that grow into their centenary years during the series. I'm also keen on most of Marion Zimmer Bradley's books, as the protagonists and antagonists are aged women, especially in her treatments of the Arthurian saga.
