They are called cheetah cubs. Look up on the cheetah here: http://www.cheetah.org/?nd=42&gclid=COW71K7qqIoCFQRZTAodmwposQ

They are called, "cubs." However, baby Cheetahs, unlike other large spotted cats, are born with their spots. They also have silver fur that extends from the back of their neck down to the middle of their back. The silver fur eventually falls out. But while they have it, it gives them a Mohawk appearance. It is this silver fur that protects them by giving them the appearance of a Ratel, also known as a Honey Badger. The Ratel, or Honey Badger, is a very unpleasant animal that most predators avoid. It could also be this silver fur on their backs that causes some people to think that baby Cheetahs are classified as something other than cubs. But the truth is that they are indeed classified as “cubs."

Actually, Mr Science Teacher is wrong. its actually cheetah cubs not kittens. Kitttens are mostly referred to smaller felines.
