I Honestly will never forget and for always be grateful to those who gave food dishes...and they're time ...especially after the funeral ..putting together a buffet style gathering after funeral...It is when funeral arrangements are finished when the true loneliness seeps in..For me it was unexpected therefore having people who gave me that...was the best...it didn't take away the blow...but the transition wasn't so scary...even so send flowers...I know there are differed opinions on live and fake flowers...but,...the more practical...the better...nothing worst than throwing away flowers at the end..or trying to push people to take ome home...lol...it sounds weird...but...those kind of little things make a huge difference when feeling such loss...
Good Luck and God bless

if you did not know the person who died the only gift you can give is a note of condolence and an offer of help in any way you can, eg, helping to pick up people at the airport, finding rooms for out of town relatives, making meals, anything to make the burden of everyday life easier.
