Neither is better than the other as they are both units of information. Its like saying, "what is the difference between 6 and 9. Which one is better?"

Gigabyte info:

A gigabyte (derived from the SI prefix giga-) is a unit of information or computer storage equal to one billion (short scale, meaning a thousand million) bytes. It is commonly abbreviated GB (not to be confused with Gb, which is used for gigabits).

Because of a traditional inconsistency, "gigabytes" are often intended to mean gibibytes in common speech. This usage is not recommended as it creates confusion (see below) and has been facing increasing opposition by many technical standards and legal entities in the past few years

A megabyte is a thousand byte. A gigabyte is a million bytes. One is just more of the same thing, neither is best!
Just think along the lines of a email that is a megabyte. A email with a gigabyte would be a thouand times bigger.
