I think it really depends on your high school that you're going to. Some high schools have REALLY good tennis players and even their JV/Frosh teams are still really good. My advice is to check out the tennis team or ask people that are on the team about it.

I started tennis when i was in 8 grade and i made JV in freshmen year. Give it a try. If you keep playing/watching tennis, you'll get up to level really quick.

Im glad u asked. I started playing as a sophmore in highschool. Im a junior in highschool right now. Ive been taking lots of classes. I played pre, during and after season. I am now taking three 1 and a half hour classes a week and occasionly on sunday. So if I was u, i would start RIGHT NOW. Join a class, take at least one class a week and hit a couple times a week with friends.
Tennis is a great sport!!!! yay for tennis

Starting tennis at any level is good. It depends on where you want to go with it. If you want to go professional, I can tell you now...blame your parents for not starting you early...but if it's a leisure thing you want to do but be good at it, it's never too late to start. Just get your basics down and the more you play, the better you develop your game.

Absolutely! You can start any time. The earlier the better. I actually know people who started when they were in their fourties and even fifties and within five years, you could stay they've been amateurs all their lives.

Don't miss your chance to learn this great sport and have respect from all your friends all your life. Plus - a great chance to get new friends and stay fit and healthy all your life.

And who knows! You might meet your future husband on the court - just like my parents met!
