Are they really a Wiccan, or a wicca-be?
Also, are you talking to one who is part of the British Traditional Witchcraft, because they feel that the words wicca and witchcraft are interchangeable, and therefore wicca is witchcraft and it is an ancient practice. American Wicca is very different, and is a new religion.
Now, as for your being a Luciferian; how wonderful. It adds to the diversity of this board and brings another POV here.
But please, don't place fluff bunnies and wiccabes and playgans in the same cauldron as real witches and Wiccans. We kind of resent that.
There are way too many out there who are doing that because it's "cool" or they are revolting at home, or they are straddling the fence between Christianity and something else.
Real witches and Wiccans don't care what religion you are, we know better. And to be very honest, we are tired of being lumped into that huge cauldron with all the kids and idiots who have no idea what they are talking about... a lot like you are tired of being called a devil worshiper.
There are several different paths of Luciferianism, from Gnosis (a la Eliphas Levi), to angel working (Enochian), Luciferian Witchcraft and the Left Handed Path, and Freemasonry. Which one are you part of?
So, welcome to the group. Lots of playgans and wiccabes out there, but there are really some well read and real practicing Wiccans here, and we will discuss with you on a reality basis, not as stupid children.

This has probably been said already, but Wicca is only about 50 years old (give or take a few years). Wiccan's don't believe in the devil, so why they call Luciferianism devil worship is beyond me. Many wiccans however are not typically like that. I really only know one wiccan personally (not me. I am not wiccan, but I am a witch) and I have not heard him say anything related to what you said. It's probably a small handful ruining things for the majority.

Yes, I've seen quite a bit of intolerance and ignorance from "some" people who claim to be Wiccan. But in general, these folks are new to their path and/or under 25. Of course there are many exceptions. Sometimes I find it interesting when they complain about others being so judgmental and uninformed, then acting in the same way. Other times I simply find it frustrating.
A couple weeks ago on here I was told, "So please get your facts straight before commenting on something you don't entirely understand" when I stated that the movie "The Craft" is fiction. Hopefully in time these people will open their minds and truly seek.
The "typical" Wiccans that I know are very knowledgeable about their religion and its history and are non-judgmental (and encouraging) of those who follow other paths. Most have studied the basics about neo-pagan religions other than their own. Perhaps this attitude simply takes maturity and time. Most of the Wiccans that I know have been actively walking their path for at least a decade and are 35-55 years old. I don't think that age/time practicing has everything to do with it, but it probably is a factor.
Welcome to YA and I'm looking forward to hearing your views on here and in the Religion & Spirituality section. I'm not familiar with your path and would like to learn about it.

Both Boudica and Tirya are spot on. Not all Wiccans are like that, just as I would imagine not all Christians feel the need to condemn us for being part of different religions.
What I also don't understand, is why they would bash you in the first place? In Wicca, if they even know their Gods and Goddesses, we have a Goddess named Diana and her brother was/is called Lucifer (light bringer). Together they had a child named Aradia that is supposedly the first Witch and lived in Sicily in around the 14 century. Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but Lucifer in Wicca, is certainly not the Devil, he is simply a God of Light. As far as my understanding of Luciferianism goes, this is who you worship/revere, not the Devil, so not a Devil Worshipper.

You know why the brand your religion as devil worship? Cuz those wiccans in particular became a wiccan in the first place just to feel special, to get attention (They believe they are the light and you are the dark, that kinda crap). So not really the 'pious' wiccans (Note the "), don't bother even calling them wiccans.
One more thing, don't go 'round telling people your'e Luciferian (New term for me) unless asked that's what the wanna-be wiccans do.
If they go un to how Wiccan has been around for ages, ask them: Have you been around for ages? How would you know?:
Then if they still don't shut up, tell them that Wicca has only been popularized recently and is not a big deal. Those who are really Wiccans would accept that fact, then again...they wouldn't condemn you in the first place unless your'e a real DWer.
Basically, if you have not done anything wrong then shut them up.

You have encountered what the Wiccan community commonly calls 'fluffy bunnies'. They tend to be people who are addicted to new age fads rather than the religion itself or are sincere and just need to mature a bit. They are our fundies so to speak.
Also Wicca has NOT been around for ages. There can be attempts at connecting what is believed to be ancient beliefs to the present however, they end up having a modern twist since there are often gaps that need to be filled. The true age of Wicca as a religion is about 50 years.
"Approximately 50 years. The first book on it was published in 1954 (Witchcraft Today) , although the author claims to have been practicing since 1939."
But, the age of a religion doesn't validate it. Why should it be ancient to believe in it?
Check out my source and if you have a chance, send it to those bunnies you've met.

Their called "Fluffy Bunnys" or "attention seekers" they have usually just burst out of the broom closet, after reading a crap new age book by someone like "Scott Cunningham".
www.whywiccanssuck.com was the best site about fluffies and attention seekers I've ever came across, and it was made by a wiccan, saying "I have no problem with Wicca. It's the Wiccans I can't stand". There are some of the stuff from the site, over on www.wiccaweb.com it pretty much sums up what the original site was on about. If you want to read it... heres a link:
http://www.wiccaweb.com/suck_immaturity.php
Now a quote:
"I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU.
Anyone who comes to this webpage
intending to snicker at how wrong it is
or to get angry at the Stupid Fundie
is one of the people I'm talking about.
Do I mention crystal-hugging New Age
mental case flakes on this page
a n y w h e r e ? NO.
And yet, people keep mentioning them.
"Agreeing" with me, for God's sake...
-- too dense to realize that
I'm talking about THEM. "

No. Wiccans who claim that "Wicca has been around for ages" are sorely ignorant of their own history. Folks who have done their research and who are honest with themselves and with their beliefs know that Wicca under that title only goes back to Gardner, even though the beliefs and practices on which Gardner based his works go back further. But that's far, far different from being "around for ages".
I don't know why they should care whether you are Luciferian or not, because everyone has their own Path. So long as you're not interfering with or knocking their beliefs, they have no reason or right to interfere with or knock yours.
I'm not sure what sort of people you're interacting with, but I generally associate that sort of behavior with mid-to-late teens who are still in the "fluffy bunny" phase. Some move out of it, some don't, but it's not something that I would consider being "how they typically are".

I think it's probably just brought on by misunderstandings of both beliefs. I had to look up Luciferian because the name really made me think you were crazy to claim it wasn't worshipping the devil, but it seens it's not THAT Lucifer. As for the Wiccan being defensive, it's for the same reasons you would have been. They are often misconstrued as devil worshippers as well. S/he probably, like you, has had the comment made to her many, many times.

i do no longer comprehend any. There are basically some Pagans in my section which makes me very unhappy as i've got not got fairly some human beings to coach me or help me with religious concerns. The few that do stay in my section are the rebellious teen kind who do no longer comprehend a besom from an athame ,or greater efficient yet they think of an athame is used for ritual sacrifices. they're people who incredibly annoy me. Blessed be.
