what do they refer to the world that is not the matrix as?
if they do at all..

i need to talk about it in a paper for school and i'm not sure what to call it.

I think what they said to Neo was "welcome to the real world" the world outside the illusionary matrix is just the real world (that ugly reality where aliens are harvesting humans to use them as batteries & they keep us in a persistent dream state so that we don't know what's going on.)

The one that is not the matrix is the real world. They live underground... so literally IN Earth. hope that helps!

I imagine the 'real world' or Earth because they said Zion was the last colony on Earth.

I have a few ideas.

The base world.

Reality.

The concrete universe.

Behind the curtain.

Outside the cave. (As in Plato's allegory)

The organic world.

The sensory free universe.

Black and White.

God's world.

The origin point.

I could go on and on!

But I don't like "real world" because it has a cultural reference to MTV's "real world", and the term is too common. You need to coin your own term.
