peekvid allows people to watch video content like prison break or family guy. is that actually illegal since they let you watch it for free?

The correct answer.
The films and content do not belong to Peekvid, it simply hosts the content. Hence watching the content is perfectly fine, however download of the content is not. You may watch the content and as much as you want and it is perfectly safe.

Usually they have some sort of licensing agreement with the original distributor so it would be legal and they sell advertising to pay the cost of distribution so it is free to you by way of advertising just like Yahoo and Google. Hope this helped!

I don't know if it's legal or not, but those shows are all on channels that you don't have to pay for in the first place, so maybe it is.

pretty much in the same boat as youtube, it's legal i theory but people are using it in an illegal way.

I think that since your are only watching it(not downloading) it should be legal.
