Sir:
numerous times I have with other elders waited ten minutes and longer to be checked out. When I or others ask we get a snide response. What is the purpose of having 11 checkout stands and only keep 4 open..I understand profit margin and all that. but come on your products are made in china, you have a huge profit margin and if not, you can afford at least one more clerk at least for Fridays. This is absurd and disrespectful..
Please have some one clean the parking lot it looks like a dump.I am deeply embarrassed even more so now that I found out my parents are coming out from Illinois for my birthday in March.
Will I have to take them to Yuba county so that I won't feel frustrated and embarressedby going to the Oroville store. I was told that all walmart's are different..if so that explains why this one looks like a seond hand store. You should sneak in and check it out one day..you too would be embarrassed unless your only goal in life is to sell Chinese made breakable products.

I can't speak for that particular location but I can speak from my experience. I was a cashier for 7 years at WalMart.

1 - I remember one day I was standing in line at Walmart hearing a man complain "Why don't they have enough cashiers here!" I spoke up, showing him the Kleenex & various cold meds, "Maybe it's because half of the cashiers have that bug that's going around, LIKE ME"

2 - There also seems to be a strange phenomonom. There is a major slump in customers coming up to the check outs so the manager sends a few people to lunch break or to work a department & that seems to be the cue for everyone in the store to simultaniously rush to the register to check out! And each one of them complaining "Why do they have so many registers & so few cashiers!"

3 - Or maybe the person in charge of schedules hasn't a clue how to do his job. In the 7 years I worked at WalMart there were some who managed to do a great job & get us our schedule 2 or 3 weeks ahead so we could schedule our private life (Thanks George), and there were some who were clueless. One lady would post out schedules Friday afternoon for the next week (starting Saturday) & she would usually for get that I was allowed Sunday mornings off so I could go to church.

4 - Or maybe the store manager or even the district mangage is worthless.

Before I answer you should know that I don't represent ANY Walmart in ANY way. In fact, I hate shopping at all walmarts. You should also know that there is probably no one representing walmart on Yahoo Answers to read your question.

With that being said, almost every walmart I have ever been to has problems with having many checkout stands and only a very few open. The Walmart close to where I live has about 30 checkout stands and usually have less than 10 open.

This might have more effect if you sent this to the store manager rather than Yahoo. Plus, I think you will find that it would be a lot more effective if you removed phrases like "huge profit margin". Trust me, the people at Wal-Mart know what their net margins are, and they are not "huge" -- unless you consider <5% "Huge".

Why is this being posted on Yahoo answers? Yahoo answers is not a group of Walmart employees - it is a public forum, if you are that concerned talk to the store manager.
