In the UK the offence is cultivating and is usually dealt with taking into consideration of amounts involved obviously if you have numerous plants then your treated as a dealer would be for supplying if you had one plant they would believe it was for your own use and a caution would be likely on first offence in the absence of evidence to the contrary.

its illegal to grow your own weed... but the law recently decided its legal to keep 17 ounces for personal use. thats PERSONAL use... i dont know where youd buy 17 ounces in one go, or why youd buy that much in one go... but its what the law says.
basically, this guy cropped, and got busted.. in court he successfully argued that he was disabled and had a medical use, and by growing his own weed he wasnt giving his money to criminals or associating with know drug dealers...
and he got a favourable judgement.. but no more than 17 ounces at any one time... (thats very almost half a kilo.) its still illegal to grow weed, and even more illegal to sell it, supply it or allow it to be smoked on your premesis by others...
but if its personal, and you have a MEDICAL need, and youre not just another head... you may..and i emphasise may, get away with it...

NO.
Even if you're in a place where medical MJ has been decriminalized, and even if you're afflicted with the ailments for which it is authorized, you'll get in hot water if anybody catches you growing your own THC.

In Alaska you can up to 25 plants. In some states that have medicical marijuana laws, you can have 2 or 3 plants. Every state has different laws. NORML is nice enough to keep track of marijuana laws by state.

No, not in the UK but isnt it kind of weird, it's like a natural growing weed, but with benefits, but it is natural, so like the Governments outlawing something that is natural, is like saying God was wrong, man that just sounds like PARANOID
Government spokesperson, yes we decided that what was growing naturally we couldent tolerate, so we have decided to make something that is natural illegal, hmmmm

No, it's illegal, and has much higher penalties than somple consumption/possession. Although, for whatever reason, it's legal to buy the seeds!

If you are in the UK....definitely not.
