Get a lawyer and try to get the maximum that the insurance policy will allow. Back injuries suck. Even if it seems like you are healed, it may someday flare up again. Assume it will be a permanent condition for purposes of collecting on your claim.

The only acceptable offer is the one you think is correct - you need to speak to someone in the legal proffesion really to get a good answer!

The bad news is, as I have found to my cost, the injury will not go away for a long long time! I had my accident 7 years ago and I still suffer!

If by way of medical evidence you can prove that your injury is going to be long lasting and affect your life - you should be looking at a lot of money!

You could try one of the injury compansation companies that advertise on TV - they basically operate free nowadays and the hidden catches have been taken away! You get all of the compensation and they have their fees paid by the other parties insurance company!

They will probably have more idea as to what you can expect

Well I got £2,500 for the same thing and I certainly dont think its enough because it has affected my legs also. Go for around £`10,000 and I sincerely hope you get it. Its ok for them to crash into us but its our lives that are ruined. You might possible get more...ask your solicitor what he thinks is reasonable. If the other side does not agree they will send you to a private doctor at a private hospital and he will examine you and make a report on what you tell him. If you have a history of arthritis they will play on that and you will get less. They will ask foryour doctors records and any hospital records if you have been attending a hospital for any back problems. Goodluck.
