There's a simple blood test that can be done that tests your FSH levels. The lower your FSH level the better. This will most likely tell you if you are perimenopausal. I had it done several times, and I will be getting it done again in a few weeks. My husband and I are trying to have kids.

Edit: Vicky's right. I had to get it done on the third day of my period.

Well your not on your own I felt like that and was 37 though I was going mad I kept going to the doctors till I made them do the blood test and yes it was very high. I am now 49 did try a few HRT until I got the right one and am fine now have been for a few years in fact haven't had a hot flush since I was 40. You get to your doctors and tell them and it may take a while till you get it sorted out, some don't get on well with HRT others are fine. Good luck

Your Dr. can tell you. Good thing you are making an appointment. There are so many conditions that have the same symptoms you describe. Some of the dizziness is from fluid retention(also causes the swelling and aching). Your Doctor will put your mind (and body) at ease. I'm peri-menopausal and can identify with some, but not all, of your symptoms. It hits us all a little differently.

Some of this is peri-menopaue but the headaches and dizziness are more consistent with sinus problems. Get some Sudafed at the drug store (the real thing) and some ibuprofen or naproxen and take those to see if they help with the head pain and the dizzy feeling after bending over. Some of your other symptoms are also not consistent with peri-menopause so be sure to write all of these symptoms down and give them to your doc when see him so he can evaluate each one separately.
