I hope you aren't buying into the mindset of so many foreign car owners who would NEVER admit it if something wore out on their cars. I worked with people like that. They would drive a different car to work and we would ask why. They would say they only left it for scheduled maintenance. One of us would go to the dealer and ask to see the service record. HAH! Air conditioner compressor failed. Brake pads worn out at 30,000 miles. Power steerring pump noisy replaced at same 30,000 miles. These people would never face up to the fact their foreign cars had problems because they worked at an American auto plant. They will tell you their car went 250,000 miles and nothing wore out. NOTHING! You HAVE to know that is not true!!!!!!!
And ask them to show you the slips for scheduled maintenance. EXPENSIVE.
If that Honda does have mechanical problems you will pay dearly for repairs. Honda long ago was marketting cars at a reduced price to sway Americans over because there is a limited market in Japan. They were counting on the repairs to make up the expense.

I have always owned Hondas. They are great cars because they're so extremely reliable. Make sure the one you buy has been well-maintained, and all you'll ever need to worry about is basic car maintenance. My first car was my mom's '91 Accord, which had 180,000-something miles on it when I got it. I put another 100,000 miles on it over the five years I owned it and never had a single problem with the car. All I ever had to do was keep up the scheduled maintenance. I only sold it because I wanted a pretty new Civic, not because there was anything wrong with it. I've had my Civic for 5 years and put about 85,000 miles on it, and have never had so much as a dead battery. Buy a Honda!

Not hard to maintain a Honda they are very reliable. Like the other people said change the oil and perform routine maintenance. The problem with Hondas is when something goes really wrong they are very expensive to repair at a professional shop. I suggest you have the vehicle checked out by a professional before you purchase it. That way you know you wont have to drop a tranny in or end up replacing a head gasket soon.
Good Luck

The Hondas are great cars, and not difficult to maintain. The question you need to ask is what condition the car is in now. How did the previous owner maintan the car. What maintenance records are available? If the car is not well maintained before you buy it, it will be expesive to upkeep after you buy it. If you are buying from a private party, ask if you can take the car to a mechanic for an inspection. If they say NO, move on. Good luck!!

I have an 88 honda accord and it has 244,000 miles. and i spend very less in maintenance since its practically worry free cars.
Your 1995 accord will be the same case, will not have major problems and will be easy to maintain. The years you are looking for is one of the best, (I myself wanted to get one, but could not find one in good condition).
Here is a link to a complete reliability line up for your accord http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Reliability.aspx?year=1995&make=Honda&model=Accord&trimid=-1

Honda's are very reliable cars and don't need a lot of maintenance. The oil has to be change every 3 months and just keep the specific maintenance checkups

As long as you can afford 10-13 gals. of gas, an oil change, new tires. You'll be fine. Honda's are built to go on for long as you take care of it.

Go for it kid. Easy to maintain, reliable and don't need a lot of repairs. Nice to see a young person concerned about maintenance and reliability instead of cold air intakes and bling for a change!
