I would say a granny flat would consist of separate area's for a "granny" to be self sufficient within the house so that they wouldn't need to go into the rest of the house unless they wanted to. So I would say a living area, sleeping area, bathroom and bedroom area. Of course it could be a combined living and sleeping area or a living area with a small kitchen off of it. It all depends on the individual needs and how big the property is.

Hope this helps

It's usually a small apartment attached to a house where the old granny can be housed near the family , it's fully fitted with all her needs so she can be near the family , then firmly locked in and wheeled out whenever a free baby sitter is required.

A room connected to a family residence, where the smelly senile grumbler can live in relative safety, observed by younger relatives. All Granny needs is a bed, bath,w.c, lounge, kitchen (if she can be trusted with cooking!)

Is that the bosom of a grandmother whose cleavage has succumbed to gravity?

Otherwise it is what we call here an "in-law apartment". That's a small living area, often with a separate entrance, that families build onto an existing home. It provides a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and maybe a living room for elderly parents.

Well first a "gannie flat" is most times an after thought an add on to a house,so therefore is small, the living area most times is a living and sleeping area, with small kitchen and bathroom.

Sitting area, kitchen, bathroom, granny and usually connected to your house, so think more about sheltered accomodation.

Just the basic - sitting room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom/wc. Either the sitting room or the kitchen will be adequate to house a table and chairs.
