Yes, there is a spot and NO IT IS NOT A MYTH. I was training to be a massage therapist and they told me that you need to be VERY careful when massaging a pregnant woman because you can induce labor by hitting pressure points. It's like right below your ankle bone on the outer portion of your ankle. You have to press pretty hard and massage the area....so, if you're to full term and you're trying to get this baby to come out, have your man give you an ankle massage...he might hit the right spot and induce your labor!

yeah there is- but you can't just "massage it" or use a little bit of pressure- you need to really know what you're doing in order to get it to "work"... Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point
here are some pictures and links for you
these are for 'starting' labor:

I've been trying this all day. It's not working. The point is supposedly 4 finger-widths above your ankle bone on the inside of the ankle. The spot is supposed to be quite obvious as it is supposedly very tender. You have to push very very hard until you feel a contraction, then stop. Then do it again. Good luck - hopefully you'll have more success than I've had.

LOL ... I know exactly where your coming from. I remember the last few weeks of pregnancy I just wanted to have the baby. My doctor told me about it, but I'm not too sure where exactly it is. Just get some feet and ancle massages. Also black licorice is a good labour inducer, and of course ... s e x ! Try em all, if they don't work then you are just having a very very stubborn baby. Good luck! and Happy Motherhood! :)

Why would you want to induce labor? It will happen when the baby is ready to come out. I have never heard of a pressure point to induce labor.

I don't know about on the ankle, but you can induce labor by stimulating your nipples.
My doc had me do that and with a week it worked. Check with your ob before doing so.
