He needs a better doctor, not a circumcision.
A competent doctor can treat the rare problems of an intact penis without surgery.
Most US doctors are too money hungry to learn how.
One out of three men that get circumcised have less than desirable results, try something else, anything is better than mutilation.

I am 39 and had it done a week ago.
My Urologist went through all of the risks with me. He was very concise and open and made it clear that there would be discomfort and the recovery slow but sure. 4 to 6 weeks before any sexual arousal.
Depending on the reason for the circ, the one thing I would recommend is to get the glans ready for direct all the time stimulation by stimulating it before surgery. The more you can get the glans used to direct stimulation, the easier the recovery.
This may seem like minor surgery, but treat it as major surgery. I was able to go back to work the next day, but the sensitivity was quite severe and it was uncomfortable. Wear tight fitting briefs to keep the penis form moving around too much. That saved me!!

I take it u mean is it safe for him to have the operation now? Yes it is. He will need meds for pain control and that is about all. Speak to your dr. first.

Yes it is safe. Muslims and Jewish do that. I know someone who did it when he was 30 years old, and it was OK for him.
