ive got a transmission leak. i put it in reverse the other day and it wouldn't go. checked the level and it didn't register on the stick. i put three quarts in, drove approx two miles and checked again. now its about a quart over. does anyone know how much harm can be done with it that much over? and if it is critical what would be the easiest way to extract it? also i do have a leak. How bad i don't know

get a big pan , may be 2 , jack the car up , 1/2 socket and loosen 2/3 of the bolts, drain it out , don't drive the car till you get the right level of fluid , to check tranny fluid level , you mus t get the car at full temperature , drain out the 3 qts. and start again this time take it for a drive,too much atf . will blow the seals in the tranny, you know, why not drain it all and change the filter ,and gasket and all new fluid. i did it in about 2 hours,

your transmission might start slipping with to much transmission fluid...
