It's not just you. I enjoyed the first series, and am glad the BBC are doing another.
Perhaps the Doctor will appear in the next one?

Torchwood will be making a very brief appearance in the new season of Doctor Who, and Jack will be teaming up with the Doctor again.
Just a few more months to wait.

I miss Torchwood. Just gonna hijack this question now to ask about the end of the last episode. I think the lead woman asked him if there was anyone he'd ever loved (or words to that effect) and just said oh yes.....then it cut to her and you heard the tardis noise in the background then cut back to Jack smiling and looking up. Then to the rest of the group with leading lady saying "someone came and took Jack"???? Is this right?

So, what it the Dr who came and took him in the tardis and is it the Dr whom Jack really loves?

Exec producer Julie Gardner introduced in June that Torchwood sequence 3 became via initiate filming in previous due August, and can air it sluggish in spring 2009, on BBC1 interior the 9pm slot (the poster who reported Jan/Feb would desire to be perplexed -- it is been shown for months as airing in spring). it is going to likely be a 5-episode miniseries airing over the process one week, and would have one storyarc (Russell T Davies is writing the final tale arc and the 1st and final episodes and 'Sleeper' author James Moran is writing one). Jack, Gwen and Ianto will all be decrease back, with Ianto having a lots greater suitable place. it is no longer being decreased to 5 episodes via fact of John Barrowman's artwork committments, yet via budget regulations (the better Boat Studio, the place the two wellbeing care expert Who and Torchwood are filmed, has been cut back from 2 production communities to one, meaning they might now no longer shoot 2 exhibits concurrently). there have been many rumours approximately Micky and Martha turning out to be a member of even though it it somewhat no longer likely the two would be turning out to be a member of as regulars as the two Freema and Noel are booked with different artwork for the period of the term Torchwood is filming in. that's in all probability one or the two would seem as concentrated visitor stars. Gareth David-Lloyd reported he'd considered the script for the 1st episode and no new characters are in it. Andy Pryor is interior the midde of casting appropriate now, achieveable for regulars, probable for concentrated visitor stars. There are provisional plans to start shooting sequence 4 interior the recent year, to air later in 2009. John Barrowman has reported some cases that S4 would be ten episodes long, even though it is achieveable this would substitute.
