Should political parties be scrapped?! as in-
There are many negatives inlcuding that they are simply power hungry, and full of wirepulling elite, some say incompatible with freedom and restricts choice to artificial dualism.... would we be better off without parties?
what are the benefits of them in a MODERN politcal world?

A political party is a network that also supplies power in numbers. If you do away with the parties you will still have people creating networks to aid in the passage of legislation, fundraise and assist in getting their friends elected.

Yes in the past there were different parties in control.Now it is republicans and democrats.In the future there will be others.As times change people will grow tired of repulicans and democrats , and the real beliefs of the county will come out in a new ad better party.It might start today , but to be succesful it will have to be hard lined not so wishy washy.The true battle is not republican or democrat it is liberal or conservitive.I just wish we cound start the NEO-coservitive party now.

Another problem with political parties, as I see it, is that the public, in general, tend to rely too heavily on their parties' views. I have found it difficult, at best, to have an intelligent conversation with someone who has an opposing viewpoint as they rely solely on "sound bites" they have heard from their party instead of keeping informed for themselves.
