I actually bite when people tell me to smile more. It's really an effective strategy. They learn to stop bugging you FAST.

It is a scientific fact that the simple act of smiling, causes the body to release endorphins that actually help you feel better.

In any given moment, we are each responsible for the way we feel, No one else.

Check out the movie, "What the Bleep Do We Know". You just might be surprised at what you learn. Good luck!

I feel the same way. Idiots always saying smile it can't be that bad. Smiling is not going to change the situation. I do not believe in false happiness. If they can't get over the fact that I have nothing to smile about. It's not my problem.

It shouldn't matter what others say. If you don't feel like smiling, don't smile. If you do? By all means, grin like a fool! Being indignant doesn't help any. But I think I get what you mean. You're not smiling, and you don't feel like smiling. Anyone who comes along and annoys you about it is going to make you feel more like scowling. Am I right?

I do hate when men try to use that as some sort of weird pick up lineor something. You don't know me or what is going on in my life; I have good reasons not to walk around looking like Ronald McDonald right now.

I concur with your statment and I don't think you are contrary at all!

Nothing is more patronizing than to tell someone to smile| (this is also true when your picture is being taken)|

One's reactions must be natural to how one feels|

To tell someone that they must have a given reaction, because he is "supposed to," is perhaps the greatest disrespect that you can give a person|

For then you are not treating him as a person at all, but as an *object* to manipulate as you will.
