How many close friends do you have? Do you regularly go places with them? Where? How often? Do you have friends that you only e-mail, but you consider them close friends?

I'm not searching. I have all the friends I want for the reasons some women have listed (no time, different priorities, etc.). My hus thinks I am the only woman like this and I just wanted a little confirmation.

I have very few close friends, my good friends are all from my childhood (and they all live in another state), I go out about 2 times per year and that is usually to go and eat and catch up on what has been going on. I don't make friends on the internet, I had one good friend for awhile, but we both were selling the same product and since I have stopped selling it there is very little contact. It seems during a certain time in your life like the 18 years you have kids your life gets put on hold and then when they fly the coop you can start doing your old stuff.

I have a handful, maybe 3 or 4. I dont have much time to keep up with many more. I typically see them once or twice a month and talk on the phone a few times per week. I have some friends i email but dont share or discuss anything that would make me close to them.

Thats me. I have no what I would call close friends. A few friends from my youth and I still email. I have some new friends I am trying to cultivate, but so hard to find time. The ones that have time dont have kids and ergo live different lifestyles. We women are already stretched between our family time, couple time, and jobs. Its impossible to fit another companion in with no demands. Good luck in your search.

You have to be able to have other friends outside of the home.It balances things. It is hard to find time, but you do find some to have lunch or do little things together. My other friends are the same as I, so they don't have much time either. No, How can you have a close relationship with anyone that you only email? No human contact, it is a must!
