I'd say I use it for fun mostly, because most people don't know what they're talking about and are unreliable. Your thoughts?

Well personally i use yahoo answers for just about any question i have unless i dont want the world to know! i think about that the question i am going to post could be seen by the world and i think twice. so i would say mostly for fun. But most of the time i get the answer to my question before anyone else gives me one on yahoo answers!

mostly fun, but I have gotten some good gardening tips, recipes, stuff like that. I would never take advice about something serious from here, but I get lots of ideas to research. I even learned a new term or two on here-and I am an English major, lol

Although we do have fun. There are serious questions, and questions that require thought and sometimes research.
In most of the other category's, the people don't come to Yahoo Answers to socialize.

I answer fun questions, but I mostly ask serious questions. If I ask questions that have to deal with research, I make sure there's a source and if it's about relationships or something, it doesn't matter if it's just made up.

well when i ask serious questions, none of them seem to know the answer so i decided this is not a place for a real answer-search. though i try to give serious answers as well

A little bit of both.
I originally asked a couple questions, and received helpful, reliable answers. They I got interested in answering questions, and giving people the benefit of my life's experience.
Obviously, you have to make your own evaluation of answers you receive here, and many of them are either incorrect or mischevious.
I prefer not to involve myself in any political or religious flame wars, but other than that, there is a certain satisfaction in offering useful answers.

In P&S, mostly fun. Sometimes if i have a real question i usually categorize it correctly. Then I read all the answers and go from there......

Depends on the subject being answered, but mostly for fun !!!
I know that all the "crazies" are not in institutions, thats for sure.... but think of how dull it would be elsewise...
