essay- a short literary composition on a particular theme or subject, usually in prose and generally analytic, speculative, or interpretative.
personal narrative- written about you by you
journal- a record of some sort
write about something that interests you and something that others can relate too.

An essay is about something usually a page or two long.
A personal narrative , is something you write about yourself. It's similar to an essay.
A journal is like a diary that you write in.
A good topic to write about- why I should pay more attention in school and not come to Yahoo Answers to have someone else do my homework.

ESSAY... In this form of writing, you introduce a topic. An essay is generally subjective. This means that you write about something that is of your personal feeling. You also can persuade your reader a certain direction.
PERSONAL NARRATIVE... Unlike the essay, this writing is about yourself and obviously you can put your personal beliefs, opinions, and connotations. Personal narratives consist of memoirs and different types of biographies.
DID YOU MEAN...JOURNAL?.... A journal contains personal notes for youself, a diary is of that same nature.
