i just read the book (very good_ but i have a question does the main character/ narrator die? in the last paragraph or is that some one else?

Yes, he dies. I forget his name. He is shot on November 11, 1918, just as the armistice is about to come into effect. As the book puts it, it was a day so uneventful that the only report the Germans at the front could make back to headquarters was, "All quiet on the Western front." ("Im Westen, nichts neues.")

the most purpose isn't on battles, renowned or no longer. The archetypical conflict novel romanticizes conflict and extolls the heroes of the tale, besides the undeniable fact that this e book shows a brilliant, life like, and hellish portrait of conflict. international conflict I referred to the type of many new damaging suggestions inclusive of poison gasoline and device guns; all of which made killing a lot less complicated. the unconventional shows those guns getting used for butchery on a grand scale; case in point, battles lasting for 4 months.
