I'm 30 weeks today and for the last couple weeks my little girl has been kicking the right side of my ribcage almost constantly. If I bend over or slouch even a little, the pain gets even worse. Driving for more than 10 minutes or so also gets really uncomfortable. But the worst is trying to sleep at night. Is there anything I can do to coax her to move just a little bit?

Yup, there sure is! I've found the only sure fire way of getting the baby to leave my rib cage alone! Here goes: Have the baby. lol. It's just about the only thing that really works. My children ALWAYS love my rib cage, I think it's like baby's first xylophone or something lol Well good luck with the baby!

I know the feeling, i had the same situation when i was pregnant with my 1 1/2 yr old daughter, what i use to do is rub my stomach or where ever my daughter was laying and she would move her little body into a different position so she wouldnt kick me in the rib cage but at night when i'd go to bed she'd always go back into that position, right under my ribcage and doze off to sleep. The best way to sleep comfortably at night when shes against your ribcage is by sleeping on ur left or right side and rub ur stomach again until u drift off to sleep. Good Luck to you & your new addition!

I know the feeling all too well! Sometimes I gently push down on the spot and coax him to move. Other times I arch my back or raise my arms in order to make that position less desirable for him. When all else fails I eat something sweet or drink a lot of water to get his whole body moving - which will usually result in his foot moving too. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Congrats, you are almost done!
I would suggest you check out the website www.spinningbabies.com . They can offer some helpful tips which will also help the baby turn into a more comfortable position.
Good luck!

i have the same exact problem. im 33 weeks today, and what i do is while im eating a cold bowl of cereal, i rest it where she's laying for a min and she'll move... but its never long enough for real relief. i think we're just going to have to wait till we have these little girls to get real relief... Good luck to you and your little girl...God bless!
