How do you do it-especially if your boss has no idea your pregnant? Would you be willing to quit if it got bad enough?

I had terrible morning sickness with both of my girls, the twin boys - not so much.
Morning sickness is usually a result of low blood sugar, it is best to keep something on your stomach. I would eat crackers or whatever I could get down before I even got out of bed. With the twins, I would get up a eat a meal at 3am - it may work for you but it is not suggested because it messed up my metabolism for years after.
Eventually you should tell your boss, until then, keep a trash can handy in a discreet place for emergencies. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Ok after four kids I had the pleasure of not having any morning sickness. I don't know what I did, but never had that problem. However my mom was the opposite and she discovered that if she kept a small cupful of chreerios by her bedside. First thing in the morning when she woke up, even before letting her feet hit the ground she would eat a handful of them and would not have morning sickness. Now she was told is that morning sickness is caused by having your stomach so empty first thing in the morning. She was also told which is commomn knowledge know is to eat small meals or snack throughout the day this way your stomach is always digesting something. But when it becomes empty it has nothing to digest and that is what causes the stomach to turn. Hope that this helps. Good Luck...

You shouldn't quit as you are protected by law. You must however inform your employer as soon as possible so he can put measurements in place to protect you and the unborn child from any potential hazards at work. He cannot do so if he doesn't know.
I suffered awfully with morning sickness during my second pregancy with my son, but still managed with only 1 week off work during that time. With my oldest it eased off quickly after about 3 months, with my son it lasted into month 5. It was so bad the midwife thought it might be twins due to the high hormone levels...
I found eating ginger helped a lot though and it finally vanished after week 20...

You just deal with it. I'm in the military and while a discharge is offered for being pregnant, I didn't want it. And you can't change your mind. We don't get let off work if we are sick, because the doc's won't give us quarters until the morning sickness goes away. Eat some crackers sip some ginger ale and trust me when I say it will get better.

I had horrible morning sickness before I told my boss. Get yourself some ginger candy or ginger gum. You can get the gum at most drug stores... gingerale may help too, but I found the candy and gum to be most helpful.

I actually had to go away on business when I had morning sickness. What a nightmare.

Hopefully you have some privacy in your bathroom at work... also keep some crackers in your desk. Good luck.

i was a flight attendant and i quit to go to my old job when i found out, luckily the old job hired me back but i took a 2-3 week break inbetween jobs. which was nice because that is right when the sickness happened. Tell your boss you are pregnant and hopefully he/she will understand and give you a little space.
