i have always liked running since i was a kid and have always been quite good, but i nether really did any thing about it as i was not encouraged. i am 20 now but i am very fit and run every day and would really like to do something with it. ive been to a running club a year ago for a little while but had to stop due to money, is it worth joining up again or am i to old.

The only runners I know who make money from the skill are those who receives gold medals in the Olympics and are sponsored by big name manufacturers to "push" their product.

If you look at the age of the people in the Olympics, you will see that 20 is on the edge of "being old" in most events. Athletes for this prestigous role start as young as six. They don't just run, running has been their primary life forever. In fact, by the early to mid-twenties, most now have serious injuries to the knees, etc., that slows them down, not age.

Sorry, my opinion is to find another career.

you mean "TOO" old? - if you ask then - yes! because a real runner runs because they love it, and everything else is added to them....by asking this question, you show you are not in it for the right reason...don't be a dweeb...my friend started running at 28 and finished 50th in the olympic trials...

No, you are not too old. It will be harder for you to get recognized. because most runners come from high school or college. but go for it.
