Most of us don't 'need' makeup. The reasons I think most women wear them is for decoration - like jewelry, societal pressures and "just because" - they like it. I wear black eyeliner and red lipstick quite often not because I need it, but because it makes me happy.
Other people may be self-conscious about things like skin problems (acne, rosacea, sunspots) or have scars or other marks to the skin they want to cover.
I don't condemn anyone who wears it, but I don't wear it every day and think many people shouldn't. We women are beautiful enough without the spackling and powders, aren't we? :-)

I'm a woman and I perfer the natual look. No makeup at all.
1. Concealer is nice if your embarrassed about acne, a scar or burn scars to the face from an accident. While I personally think people will look fine without makeup, I do understand there are cruel people out there who will be cruel about things like that so to cover up sometimes make the person feel better.
Some people do look better with makeup on if applied correctly. But if your skin tends to break into rashes or your eye makeup bothers your eyes even if the makeup is safe for allergies and sensitive skin then DON'T wear makeup. You'll just make it worse.
I only wear makeup if threes a very formal event going on like Christmas parties but THATS IT.... the minute I step in my house, the makeup is the first to come off!! :-)
Another problem is..... people that buy makeup but RARELY use it end up wasting money. Makeup isn't cheap and you MUST replace makeup after a certain amount of time. Mascara for example must be replaced every 3 - 4 months.
So its kinda pointless to buy makeup if your not gonna use it much.... if theres a formal event, just treat yourself (and your partner or friend) to a salon and have a makeup - artist do the work :-) At least that way you know the makeup hasn't gone bad and they are applying it better than you ever would lol
But ya... I think women only really need Concealer to cover up acne / scars they are embarrassed about that would attract unwanted stares.

Women do not NEED makeup. However since we live in a society that consistently only validate you as a woman based on your appearance, women feel they must wear makeup.
Makeup can be fun, as long as you understand it has nothing to do with you, nor is it for any other purpose but costuming.
I've never worn much of anything but eye makeup and lipstick because my coloring doesn't need it. Its fun, end of story.

Well, I'm a straight guy, but I wear make-up, so...
No one NEEDS make-up... but it can be very pretty. If done correctly, it can also accentuate your features. It can also look globbed on and tacky. It really depends on the person and how they do their make-up, how they look without, and how much value they place on appearance (yes, some women look better without make-up).
There's no set reason why anyone needs make-up. It's a personal choice. But I think someone preaching that women SHOULDN'T wear make-up is just as bad as someone preaching that women SHOULD wear make-up. It's a personal choice... as soon as you turn it into an issue, you're taking away that personal choice (or at least making more important than it really is).

hah yeah, the way they say shh is gorgeous :] properly, i search for looks ( i understand that sounds shallow, yet its no longer), that signifies that the guy must be atleast quite solid searching. i do not care if hes like brad pitt or no longer, he basically must be kinda gorgeous. I more often than not search for personaility, believe, humor, and how he treats me. I dont fairly care about intelligence, yet they couldn't be an finished fool besides. they ought to have solid undemanding experience

1) It brings out my features.
2) It hides what I perceive to be flaws.
3) Above all, it makes me feel better about how I look. Which in turn, makes me more confident. And that really does make people look better.

nobody "needs" make up. but society seems to have put unreasonable pressure and expectations on women to look as "perfect" as possible.. personally, i think it's nuts.. why can't we just accept everyone for who they are. if they have acne or whatever, then so be it.. we're all beautiful people on the inside and we are all eventually going to wrinkle with old age..

Ok, as a bisexual man I have to say that women do NOT need make-up as much as you thin. I think women are very sexy au natural.

Concealer to cover up acne.
Eye shadow to match with outfit.
Face may be a bit too dull and plain.
I personally love the fresh natural look. I will also have less skin problems when older thanks to not painting my face.
