Talent is what really counts, sticks are just wood, regardless of who made them. A talented drummer can use any drumsticks and his permorance would still be great, whereas a no talent playing with the so called best sticks still would be VERY AWFUL.

I always buy the 20 pack of drumsticks for $10 or so that look worse than if you'd made them yourself and they work for me just fine.
