It depends on with whom I am speaking, as a courtesy I will try to use words that others are more familiar with.
I say couch, rarely say sofa,& now use settee quite often.

I rarely hear "settee" these days unless (for some reason) the person saying it has a northern accent!
Otherwise it's the AmericaniZed "Couch" or nice, traditional "Sofa".
See how our language has adapted!

Most of the time it's the couch. If it's a nice couch, I say sofa. If it's terribly old, ugly, and has a hide-a-bed, then it's a davenport.

That's funny. I never thought about it before. In my living room I have a sofa bed and a recliner couch. So I guess I say both.

I think normal people say sofa or couch...only taffy nutters say settee...ah but promise you'll never change....because that, my friend, is entirely too damn funny.
