Even if you are not "actively" suicidal you should go back to the one that put you on your medications for they are not the right combinations for you. This is not normal thinking it is depression of a long term. Perhaps you need to join a support group for long term therapy group.
Life has its ups and downs, you just have to learn to be more positive and seek out more positive goals for yourself and not be so hard on yourself.....your low self esteem is not so good it seems to me. Please, seek more help, we lost a grandson to suicide and its the most horrible grief I will ever live with the rest of my life. You have made a good step by admitting your feelings on here, the next step is to seek more help. My prayer will be for you to find it. Good Luck

No, I have never felt suicidal even though I've been through some rough stuff like emotional abuse, abortion, divorce, but the worst was my oldest son dying a few years ago. I think maybe you need to work on adjusting your thought processes - they way you perceive things and see yourself, your thought patterns may be bringing you down and you can change that. I don't know about meds., have never been on them but I'm sorry you feel this way. You're probably a teriffic person and just need to search your heart for the reasons you feel this way and turn your thinking around. Try not to fall into old patterns - I hope you start to feel better. Don't kill yourself - I believe there is a plan for your life and for some reason, God is allowing you to struggle...I do believe there is purpose in it, maybe start trying to help others, do something outside of your own self, know what I mean? Just go do it, something different. I hope you can turn it around. :)

I may be wrong, but it seems as if there is nothing in your life that makes you happy, or at least keeps you from wanting to die. That's very serious. You may try listening to syndicated radio talkshow host, Dennis Prager. He devotes an entire hour every Friday to the subject of happiness. (www.townhall.com)
Obviously listening to Dennis may only play a small part in your feeling better, especially if you've had these feelings over your entire 43 years. It is a start however. If I were going to give you any advice though, I'd say stop taking those anti-depressants. They tend to draw you more into depression. Good luck!

i was that way but not anymore. To you that should be good because at least from me you no that its possible to change those desires to die. The only difference between me and you is that i was actively suicidal and i actually almost died. The point I'm trying to make is that at that point when i was almost gone i desperately wanted to be alive. I started to think about my family and how everyone would miss me i thought about my funeral i thought about everything. its even been proved that most people who commit or try to commit at the last moment desperately want to live (more than half)
i know you have heard this b4 but I'm gonna say it anyway think of the bright side of life and forget about anything that would upset you something must be triggering these thoughts of death stay away from anything negative try to always be with someone never be alone just be happy

How can you be so bored? You know the universe was here for 8.5 billion years, and is thought that will be here for another 9 billion years. That's a pretty long time, compared to the amount of time you are alive. You may have another 50 or 60 years if you are really lucky, then you will be dead for 9 billion years. That's a ratio of 0.0000000005 to 1, your life to the universe's life. You bearly count as existing at all. You better take advantage of all the time you have, cause when you are dead - you are DEAD.

Sometimes I think about wanting to die, but I know that I could never get up the nerve to actually kill myself or anything. If it helps, maybe you could write your thoughts in a journal or something, just to get them out of your head. Along with the anti-depressants, if you have the money, you might want to take the time to see a psychologist. Is there a specific reason why you want to be dead? Take that into consideration, and see what actions you can take to change it.

Hi--I went through something very similar before I started on antidepressants. How long have you been taking the meds? It took a good six weeks for them to even start for me. Also, not all meds work for everybody--if it's been awhile, your doctor should try prescribing something different. Whatever happens, don't stop the meds unless the doctor tells you to--it can make you worse. Hang in there--I never thought I'd get better, and I don't feel perfect, but I'm a lot better than I was two months ago.

I am very sorry you've had to travel this road. I've experienced depression over the past several years-- but it's due to my financial/business situation. It gets hard to get up in the morning, hard to be positive about anything, hard to share one's feelings with others. Besides the meds, do you see a therapist? Sometimes talking things over helps. Is there anything in your life that peaks your interest enough to get past the depression? If you could find something GOOD to hang on to it might be like a life raft for you. happy thoughts being sent to you.

Not at all. Dead is dead. You will not come back to life or have some kind of out of body experience, you will be dead.

Get more help...get off those pills. Side effects could be giving you more of these thoughts then helping you get rid of them...
