Did you uninstall the other one before installing the new one. If not that could very well be the problem. Uninstall completely the old one and see if that solves your issue.

Remove ALL files from both programmes using windows add or remove programmes then re-install the new one again. I have several Anti Virus programmes running with no problem. For a free one try AVG.

It sounds to me that your problem is a cross between where you downloaded thsi software from and how you uninstalled your previous software. If you downloaded this software from Limewire or any filesharing site it wasn't a program but one of many os eating viruses. what do you mean "Does nothing". If your computer is completely dead then a virus wasn't your problem. If you have a recovery disk or you OS reload it because your OS is probably deeply corrupted anyway.

I would tell the people who run the anti-virus about what has happened, and ask them if they can do anything to help.

Until you get it working I suggest you run Trend Micro, they do a great free online scanner which will remove any viruses and spy-ware you have. Link's below.

No without antivirus u can use but it is somehow risky use avg or avast antivirus its best to download it goto torrentspy.com

reinstall everything then when computer is working again get Norton and update virus definitions.
If you get Norton as part of google pack, it is free, this site has it http://google-earth-download.net

Ifyour computer does nothing ,suggest you use your reboot disc.and start from scatch.I recently (3 days ago) hed to do this.
