I know this is probably a dumb question, but are tanning bed lights supposed to be bright because when I went today they were pretty dull. This was my first time going to this salon.

It is not a dumb question. The bulbs in the tanning beds are good for a finite number of hours. You can find out from the proprietors how old the bulbs are. New bulbs are more intense and the intensity decreases as the time goes up.

Yes they are probably in need of a change. But on a side note, Why are you going to a tanning bed? I know everyone thinks skin cancer cant happen to you, but IT CAN. Im an 18 year old girl and two of my good friends have skin cancer. Now they have a chunk of their skin cut out .. one because of tanning beds and the other just from the beach.

Anyways not trying to lecture you, just trying to help. Some sunless tanning lotions work just as great as tanning if used correctly. Some great products are:
St. Tropez sunless tanning lotion (also get the removal pads for your hands or mess up areas)
Fake Bake sunless tanning
Victorias secret spray misting bronzer.

Please give these a try before you harm your body.

sounds like the are in need of change...if they are dull or it doesn't seem like it gets very hot then tell the staff that you want a different bed..why waste your money if your not getting the results
