Yes it hurts. Yes it's true, you can't feel a thing after the initial shot.

no pain no gain, go to the dentist, buck it up, be a strong little soldier,..you will be fine.

OMGoodness .... you're working yourself into a frenzy. I've been to the dentist many times and it's not that bad. You feel a little pinch sometimes when he puts the freezing in. The Novocaine will make your heart beat a little faster because it had adrenalin in it so just know it's the drug and not you. Then the dentist goes away and lets the freezing take effect and before you know it ... you're done !

A friend of mine went to the dentist and when she was finished hopped on the public transit bus to go home . Funny thing is .... everyone was stareing at her and she couldn't understand why. When she got home her brother took one look at her and burst out laughing and pointing at her face so she went to look in the mirror. It seems that while she was waiting for the bus to arrive she had applied some lipstick ( she always wore a darker brownish kinda colour ..... very visable ). Anyway, her face was numb from the dentist when she put it on so she couldn't tell that she has smeared it all around her mouth ....lol
It was a good laugh for all of us including my friend as she told us her funny story. So the moral of this story is .... and there always is a moral ... isn't there ? lol
You'll be fine at the dentist ..... just don't put anything on your lips afterwards ..... at least not without a mirror ...lol
Good Luck !!! : )

please please PLEASE don't fret, the worrying is literally over a thousand times worse than the actual thing. the shot, well i brought my iPod and the dentist left the numbing gel on for a long time and she wiggled my cheek when she put the shot it, i didnt feel a thing. laughing gas doesn't put you to sleep but it calms you and releases chemicals that have relieve pain. plus, the novacaine works quickly (and you cant feel a thing) so they give it in little pricks instead of a big long thing, and by the third or fourth you can't even feel it beause its starting to get numb. the most you might feel is a slight pinch but i promise you it will be ok. the noise of the drill is sort of loud and you might feel a little pressure, but keep still, close your eyes, and it will be over before you know it. i was so scared when i had to get 2 teeth out for braces and i didn't even feel anything. i felt so silly for worrying that much. i have to get 2 more pulled soon and i am not scared at all and im only almost 13. good luck!

i got a cavity filled not to long ago and the novacaine is a little uncomfortable but its nothing that you should be scared to death of. it just feels like a little pinch for a little bit but after that kicks in you wont feel the dentist working on your tooth. it will take a little while to wear off and your mouth will feel a little fat but after it all wears off everything will feel fine. sometimes my face even itches a little while the effects of the novacaine are wearing off but i think thats normal. i think that what you would have to get done to the the tooth if you didnt get it filled would be a lot worse than going in and getting a filling... good luck

i'm presently in college for dental helping. some dentists will attempt this for you yet you may ought to do your analyze. this may be very extreme priced to do although. My advice is that you purely get numbed as a lot as get your awareness enamel extracted. a dentist will artwork on one quadrant at a time because in case you've been to get all of your enamel done straight away, u may do damage to the extraction information superhighway sites by technique of eating. not purely that yet maximum dentists artwork on an hourly base. they could do 2-4 enamel in an hour. I surely have had countless enamel extracted a lot for an same reason as you so i comprehend from experience as well that having enamel extracted isn't as scary because it sounds. you'd be so relieved to have them out that you'll ignore about any minor discomfort that you'll experience (from the numbing shot purely, getting enamel extracted does not damage) whoever reported that the guy extracting your enamel will be a healthcare professional is kinda 1/2 acceptable. maximum dentists presently extract enamel as well as accepted dentistry, yet looking a accepted dentist which will placed you thoroughly less than for uncomplicated extractions and fillings is going to be very perplexing. And in basic terms having awareness enamel extracted doesnt warrant a good oral healthcare professional. trust me, the discomfort from cavities is a lot more effective than getting your enamel fixed. it sounds like the topics on your mouth are quite uncomplicated and a each and daily dentist can fix them less than prevalent localized anesthetics... dont be a wussy.... lol good success to you. p.s. what i propose by technique of damage to the extraction website is termed dry socket. if a suitable blood clot doesnt type over the position the enamel became pulled, or it really is bumped off by technique of chewing food, then bone is uncovered to the air. it really is likely one among the most painful element that someone can flow via. it may require weekly visits to the dentists for a month and they shoot the positioning complete of bitter, nasty, anti microbial drugs.
