first u need to use spell check. yes, u have a rev limiter; all bikes have them. it's to keep the rev's from goin so high u'll blow the engine. check the plugs; light tan, u have good mix. no rejet needed. paper white...too lean; rejet needed.
it has been proven on the dyno time and time again that drag pipes hurt performance. until u get this scoot to break 4 grand on the tach, the motor isnt going to wake up enough to take advantage of drags, and legally, u wont reach this range on the street....and u wont get past the rev limiter to take advantage of the pipes either.
if u are getting passed by a sportster, he most likely has the stage 1 kit with the proper map/jets, he also has the stage 2...and that is ported intakes and he put in high performance cams.
by the way, those that are hardcore about the sportsters, they do alot of research and asking around to make these scoots into a thoroughbred hotrod.

dude, ur bike does have a rev limiter, and it will reduce the throttle by itself when the limit it is set for is reached. its so u wont over-rev the engine and blow it apart.
does the bike pop on decell? if yes, then u might need to do a rejet. did u also put on a higher flow air cleaner with the pipes? if ur plugs look paper white, it's running too lean. u'll need the next size up jet at least.
my neighbor has a sportster that's about to turn 10k, and he has yet to have a problem with it. it's a strong bike as it is out of the box. u probably ran into an owner that had enough cash to bring the bike up to stage 3 status...it will look like the usual 883 or 1200, but that engine has been seriously souped up. i looked up a pic of ur bike......ummm, dude....that bike aint 1 that would be built for extremely high speeds out of the box, and just a change of pipes wont make it go as fast as a crotch rocket. u'd need to upgrade alot more things than just the pipes.

u met a sportster that doesnt have drag pipes, the rev limiter upgraded, and has a properly set up carb/air cleaner.
my bike has screaming eagles on both pipes and air cleaner, had the heads ported and polished, upgraded to different cams that was geared more for torque, and had a slightly different front sprocket put on. this bike puts out enough power to make a rookie rocket rider take notice for a short distance, and it started life as a 'lowly' 1200cc.

if u havent yet, put a jet kit in it from here: http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/motorcycle/honda.aspx
i also belive that if u are getting passed by a sportster, it aint in the straightaways...u gettin u *** handed to u in the curves. if he is beating u in the straights, maybe he has a bike that has a heavily modified engine. sportsters are known to get seriously hotrodded if u have the cash. and btw, for what u put down on this bike, u could easily have afforded a 1200 sportster. it aint just the bike, it's the rider.

Does your bike any more possible rpm's to build at 105 mph ? Is at redline ? Maybe you can change gearing. You may need more power if you want to go faster. Check your sparkplugs and see if they are very lihgt, showing you could richen up the jetting in the carbs.
