Hmmm, interesting! Some bees, such as the Common Carder Bee don't have stripes at all - they are brown all over. Others are black with yellow bands, rather than stripes, such as some species of bumble bee and solitary bees. It is the wasp that tends to be striped.

i duno. funny story abt bees actually. last summer me mum had them under her front door, n thinkin the nest must b tiny she just decided 2 squirt ant powder in the hole n hope 4 the best. anywayz, she does it n shuts the door asap n all u see is hundreds of these bright blue blobs flying all over the garden!! lol...so they were yellow or black! lol...anywayz, i think its yellow wiv black stripes

Neither- that is a wasp. Bees are brown.
