you are ok with having a long-term girlfriend or boyfriend, but you think marriage is not worth the trouble

I totally agree with you. I have no trouble with a long term boyfriend, but the thought of marriage is a big fat No. It changes everything and I do not know why. Most of my friends are married, and got married because they believed it was the next step. They were happy (pre marriage) and now they complain that marriage is a lot more work. If things were good before marriage and you were comfortable with that why go through the trouble, if it is just the "next step".

To me marriage is not worth the trouble. I don't believe in marriage and never did. I never even as a kid wanted to be in a marriage to anyone.

no I am pro marriage it proves you are commited for life - it means alot to me - some people view it with too much of a casual light but for me it is really important. without my rock of a Husband i dont know where I would be and if he was just my boyfriend i would not feel as secure

I've been happily married for many years, but I would suggest it only to a couple that has the emotional maturity and who has dated for a while so that they can check each other out, instead of rushing into it..

That would be me.

I've already been married twice and divorce twice.
I am so happier in my relationship without a marriage certificate.

My wife passed away in 2005. I'd give anything to have her back.

I loved being married to her. Just sitting, watching her read her favorite magazines gave me the most incredible feelings of warmth, comfort, and happiness.

Despite our occasional arguments, disagreements, and trials and tribulations, I never never looked back in regret.

When you fall in love and marry your soul-mate, it's magic.

No. It's got it's time and place in life. Guess I've turned cynical, but seems like there are a lot of self-centered users and abusers out there or is it, "There are used up geezers out there," (oh, I'm one of those).

I've tried it twice and it was fine but just didn't last that long, no blame. It's like snowballs, they're great but hard to keep for long.
