My baby is four months old. Can I get rid of the bumpers for it. He's crib meets all safety standreds.

He keeps rolling up to them so that his face up in it. I worry about breathing.

If you are concerned about suffocation i think babys r us sells a breathable bumper.

You don't have to have crib bumpers. I couldn't find any that I liked or fit right for the first couple months. When your baby starts rolling around he might bump his head though. You can see what happens. Some babies aren't that active when they sleep, others roll all over the place. At some point, I think you are actually supposed to remove the bumpers. Who knows. Bumpers are a luxury, not a necessity. You'll know if you need one when your baby starts rolling around and lets you know.

The usual recomendation is to remove the bumpers as soon as the child can roll over, you don't want him to roll over in his sleep and suffocate because his face got too close to the bunpers. Really, bumpers don't offer much more than decoration anyway so if you would rather do away with them now go ahead!

Once your baby can pull himself up to a standing position it's time to get rid of the bumpers. Of course you can get rid of them sooner, but the latest would be when he pulls up. The idea is he can try to use the bumper as a step and may get out of the crib. So if you don't think he needs one then take it out.

I left my crib bumpers in (my little girl is now 2 1/2 years) - she loves to snuggle her back up against the cushioned bumpers.
Also, when she was younger I had to remove the bumpers to wash them and when she went for her nap her foot went through the slate and when she tried to turn in her sleep it got stuck and hurt when she tried to pull it out. The slates are safe, but the angle at which she had her foot in the slate made it awakard to take out.
This never happened when her bumpers were in place, and after that I made sure she always went to sleep with her bumpers sercured around the crib.

Mine is 10 months and I still leave them in. She can pull to stand but she can not get her leg nigh enough to stand on the bumper. even if she could, it would just squish under her foot.
She needs them because she rolls around a lot and they keep her from hitting her head/face on the bars. Also, she would probably stick her arms through the bars if the bumpers were not there to protect her.

NO!!! The bumpers are really there so the child won't get stuck in the slats.They will find a way to make a harmless thing harmful, so you have to be careful for them.Remove them when the baby realizes they're there and starts trying to take them off by his/herself.

NO! He will eventually start rolling around in the crib, you should keep it up for safety reasons at all times.

crib bumpers should never be used,they are dangerous.
little ones can turn thier faces into them in thier sleep and suffercate because they may not be able to move again.
Get it out NOW.
