Some people are book smart in certain academic disciplines, but unfortunately not in handling their own money. They cannot think past today.

Because most degrees and qualifications aren't necessary.
Outside of the medical profession and the more advanced scientific pursuits, most jobs should not actually require a 4 year degree. You can train someone with a good attitude and half a brain to do just about any entry level job, white collar or blue collar, in 6 months.
We used to do that for hundreds of years and things seemed to work out. But now (at least in the US), you have to spend at least $40,000 on college to do anything but secretarial work or manual labor. Most people don't even use 80% of the knowledge they gain in the collegiate system. It's bloated and unnecessary and no-one ever thinks to question this system for some reason. It's just a way to ensure that rich people keep the best jobs and stay in power.
In 300 years, people will look back at the higher educational systems of most countries and wonder why we made things so difficult for ourselves.

Sadly enough, many of todays students become career students because they take out student loans to finish their under grad work. Then they graduate and they don't want to have to start paying the loan back so they enroll in grad school to put their loan in deferment. Then they decide to take more classes after that...it's no wonder why o many (personal pals of mine as well) end up with 80k debt after getting a masters in some field like- sociology. Not that that field is a bad thing- it's wonderful...however, ae you ever going to make that money back when you graduate? No. If you use your knowledge to help the world all the better- although, most people with such degrees end up working in an unrelated field to make ends meet- or start paying back their loans!

Money, qualifications and degrees doesn't bring contentment.
Only when you start thinking about your inner being, only when you start thinking about the society, contentment comes in you.
Losing sight of the self for material pleasures make a person depressed. The only remedy is to get involved in social service, to bring an attittude of caring and sharing - instead of thinking about making more and more profit.
The current state of humans in earth can be compared to adolescence of a growing person. This is the time where the body of a person gains energy and develops muscles - but the intellect may not be matured enough - so that teenagers may go in to various activities that may harm themselves and others.Similarly, the existing human race in earth has the power and muscles brought by science, but the conciousness and awareness of the human species needs to be elevated so that the human race can use this power properly and constructively. For this, everyone should develop the feeling of one-ness with everyone, and should develop harmony along an attittude of selfless service.
The belongingness to the fellow beings, and belongingness to nature, alone brings contentment.
If you are generous and if you care and share, happiness follows you.
If you chase happiness, craving follows you. :)

earning degrees and qualifications is just about information, being updated. In no way does it guarantee wisdom, the abilty to take right decisions.
Often people who rely on academics do it cause it gives them recognition, money and think that by earning a more money by an additional degree will make sure they will not go broke.
It is simple equation one needs to put eggs in different baskets.
Like one needs to earn more money/degree one needs to undersatnd ones personal life save enough and not swing with the spending culture, prioritize whats required. Leading a balanced well-rounded life is critical academics only improves the number of options you have around the world

Well anymore the staus quo warrants a college degree But now we
have too many college grads unemployed Kind of like if you read shakespear it great but shakespear doesn't pay the rent. More people are going back to being construction workers., plumbers etc
It's a shame one can be over qualified for one job or under qualified
for another

People who are highly qualified and talented gets placement in very good job. They will like the job in the beginning but as days days go by they may find it stressful as most the jobs they get will be challengingthe and in addition its a common human physcology to aim for higher and higher.
They will achieve the highest ranking jobs in the industry and get huge pay packages but one fine day they will find that their half life is spent without any personal pleasure that a common man enjoys in life.
It will be bias only if the person is able to enjoy both life and work.

Schools train you but do not always hook you up with a great job after graduation. Many times people end up in debt before they have a job because they were in school and not working. Sometimes it takes a while to find the job you expected to get while you were in school studying for it and the demand for that job may be high..lots of competition.

they need to understand where their strength lies and concentrate on the same. May be they were not doing so and you need to impart the education learnt in some manner to others and earn a living. Education for education sake, unless you are landed gentre, does not help. Education is to make some decent living for yourself and also contribute to society and encourage all round growth in education. In some cases some people may have tried their hands on self employment and this may have backfired. The advantage is that in this job market an educated person should find a job and support himself.

Degrees and Qualifications are not a symbol of understanding and caring;
For a better family life one need to be an understanding human;
A loving human do not possess ego!
Unfortunately, many of the qualified degree holders do not have time to be humble!!
They think that they are great and are not coachable!!!
This is the reason for breakups.

Degrees and qualifications are only one part in the personal wealth equation.
Bear in mind that your attitude, work ethic, job market conditions, economy and societal factors play a part.
If you're a graduate and find yourself constantly at the losing end of things, you may want to take a step back and examine the factors i mentioned above.
Good luck.
