The Murgtal is a very nice area, with Gernsbach, a little town that has left a lot of its medieval character.
And If you are in Baden-Baden, go to the Caracalla baths, there are thermic springs and lots of fun.
If you are into culture, cross the Rhine and go to Strassbourg to see the cathedral, it's one of the most magnificent Gothic cathedrals ever, that's only about 3/4 hour from Baden-Baden.

The whole area is very nice. Visit Freiburg ( my favorite town , I wish I could live there ) and the Glottertal.

Triberg is nice with the waterfall and Schonach with the biggest Cuckoo clock on earth.
