any age to be honest but my advice is dont set him up with a sweet tooth, it only makes for bad eating habits when he's older, trust me, i made that mistake x

Having a little bit of chocolate isn't going to hurt him for easter at 8-9 months

The chocolate itself not only has milk but caffeine so that is something to consider. Plus, I doubt an 8 month old would know how to eat chocolate. He may choke on it. Babies at that age aren't typically on any "hard" foods, mostly mush.

Yes he can have chocolate but its far better to give him savoury foods to taste
My granddaughter who`s 17 months old hardly ever has sweet foods and she is a brilliant eater
She loves all the healthy foods like cabbage,Fish,Cheese, fruit etc
So we keep her off the sweet stuff as much as possible
So with luck she will keep wanting the healthy type of food

Real chocolate made with cows milk shouldnt be introduced until he is one year old. However, if your child has already been introduced to cows milk and has had no adverse reactions then try introducing a little bit. Watch for signs of allergy though as it's not uncommon for kids to have chocolate allergies. Also, keep it to a very very tiny ammount! Chocolate has caffiene in it.

Personally i wouldn't introduce it at all... but that's just me.

Why rush? Make the most of the short time you have before he starts asking for junk food himself! If you want some alternative gifts for relatives to give him at Easter, try asking for little things like teethers, socks and t-shirts.

All of mine had chocolate at about 4 months when they were weaned, we started with white chocolate, very occasionally and they used to smack their lips and almost take your finger off when you popped a small piece in their mouth.
As others have said, use it as a treat and make sure he has a healthy diet.

Why would you want him to? He is still a baby. Babies do not need chocolate. The earlier you start giving the baby candy and junk, the harder it will be to limit them when they are older. He is WAY too young to understand "special treats" or "moderation". I would wait until the baby is around 2 years.

If i was you i honestly wouldnt give him any just yet. I made that mistake with my 2 old erst children and they just eat any rubbish junk food if i let them, my baby is 4 months and i'm not going to give her anything but fruit i've learnt by my mistakes. Buy him a cuddly toy or something nice it last longer anyway.
