I just got a new laptop and it has one of the new shiny type screens and it has collected some dust on it. I tried using a tissue to wipe it off but that made it worse. When I try to use my hands it just spreads it around but does not remove it. What is the best thing to use to clean it whithout hurting it? Any help thanks.

Hands are greasy! Even after washing .. not good to use, ever.

For dust ..

- a plain very soft bristled paintbrush will do the trick.

- compressed air from a (clean!! ) hose or can.

You can also get away with plain distilled water and a
very soft glass cloth ( as for spectacles or contact )
lenses ), if the surface has become sticky. But be very
careful, they mark and scratch easily.

Other than that, go buy some proper screen cleaner
wipes or fluid. Most computer shops should have
them in stock. Not expensive .. when compared to
a new display panel!!!

Your problem is static electricity. And wiping will not do any good. Go out and buy an anti-static screen cleaner. You might also use that special material that is used for cleaning the glasses.(I had a deer leather piece of material that did that job perfectly)
