New or old. If you like older works try the M.A.S.H series. If you like humor for humor's sake try actor David Niven's books on the early days of Hollywood. Or you might even try the series of books starring Fatso Gianninni by the late great Rear Admiral Daniel V. Gallery if you can find them. They are some of the funniest books I have ever read. And they are based on a real person. Have fun and I hope you can find some of these books. Other than those the only stupid, but funny books are the Stephanie Plum books.

It really depends on the genre your after. I have always enjoyed Jerome K Jerome- Three Men in a Boat is great, full of fantastic irony. Again Diary of a Nobody but George and Weedon Grossmith is good too, both of these books were early 20C. More modern stuff I go for would be Jasper Fforde and Robert Rankin who both write fantasy novels but both are extremely funny. Have a try -you never know! Good luck with your search

The book of bunny suicides and the return of the bunny suicides.

But if you want a proper book, Terry Prachett and Douglas Adams are the best authors to read

Yes. The BOOK (not the movie) Forrest Gump. It is very different from the movie. Some of the scenes are absolutely hilarious.

Candide by Voltaire.

I'll be laughing about that book for the rest of my life, most likely. And I'll never think of monkeys without laughing again.
